I adore L.A.Fiore’s writing�– have enjoyed several books by her now, and so this was an auto request. Its yet another fabulous, gripping read, full of drama, romance and heartbreak and a puzzle that had me wondering who, what and why yet again.
I love the characters of Teagan (Tea) and Kane. Two youngsters who’ve lost their parents and been brought up by an elderly lady and her close staff in the fabulous house Raven’s Peak. We see them right from the start, developing a close friendship that turns to love in their teens. There’s never been anyone else for either, so when Tea goes off to university expecting Kane to join her as planned six months later she’s shocked, heartbroken and devastated when he tells her he’s not coming, he’s fallen in love with someone�else!!
She doesn’t want to carry on, descends into despair and only Simon, the friend she met in the early uni days, keeps her afloat. His parents have trouble accepting he’s Gay and Tea provides him with the closeness of family that he misses. They’ve become their own family. Over the years he’s always there for her and he’s a fantastic character. Everyone should have a friend like Simon. Then Mrs Marks, the lady who took her in, is gravely ill and after 9-10 years ( not quite sure which) she returns to Raven’s Peak. Simon goes with her, fortunately, because her life is turned upside down by what she discovers. Her past, all the things she thought, all the grief and anger she had was misplaced.
�Its a real puzzle to work out. I hated Kane after his betrayal and just couldn’t see how L.A. would get them back together. Authors do that though, take us down one road and then reveal there was another that we missed. Looking back I can see now the hint of what was to come. I think of these links as Story Seeds, little off the cuff, casual remarks or instances that could be ( and often are ) overlooked yet they’re important, and�that turn into major plots over the course of the book. Sometimes�I see them�– missed it completely this time round though. Its not just one wrong turn though, there’s loads, where I believe what I’m told�– like Tea, because it sounds right, feels genuine and then later find out there are other reasons, events, people involved, and I’ve got it all wrong.
Its a fabulous read, one that had me glued from �start to finish, trying really hard not to sneak a look at the ending....though as I love to re read books that doesn't actually spoil it for me. I’m currently re reading another 5 star favourite, and this one will join my keepers file for enjoying in the future. Good stories bear re reading, reveal things I missed first time round. The only criticism I have�– and its a very minor one�– is Mr Sleazy’s role. After all that build up I expected it to be more of a drama, but it seemed to fizzle into an ending that felt a bit of a let down to me. Its a minor point though, and doesn’t take away from the fabulousness of the story.
Stars: Five, fabulous read, brilliant book, great characters and a story that had me ion the edge of tears at times.

An emotional journey that will take love to another level!!

It is often said that eyes are the windows to the soul and in L.A. Fiore's A Glimpse of the Dream, she takes her readers on an emotional, heartbreaking, and touching journey of loss, friendship, love, second chances, forgiveness, and new beginnings. With a whirlwind of raw emotion, Ms. Fiore was able to interweave the journey of Teagan and Kane from childhood to adults. Their journey was a slow building process that blossomed from childhood friends to soul-mates to lovers. In a true heart wrenching fashion, Ms. Fiore gives readers a realistic portrayal of growth. Though Teagan and Kane knew from the depths of their soul that they were indeed soul-mates, they learned that true love is about sometimes letting someone go. And the beauty of this book, was that Ms. Fiore allowed her readers to FEEL the hurt, the anger, resentment, hope and love when Teagan and Kane were reunited after several years apart. So if you want a book that reminds us all that regardless of time and circumstance, true destined love conquers all.

The synopsis pulled me into A Glimpse of a Dream. Any book that takes place in a Gothic Manor goes to the top of my list. It just screams mystery, suspense, and angst. Right from the beginning, I fell in love with not only the setting, but the characters, as well. Each character was flawed and held a secret in some form which held my interest and kept me guessing throughout.
Teagan and Kane’s story is beautifully tragic. The haunting backdrop of Raven’s Peak makes it even more so. In love for years, they go on a journey of love, sadness and redemption that will move you to tears.
This is a perfect summer read for anyone. It will keep you enthralled from the first page until the very end. L.A. Fiore has a new fan in me!
